David Law, Managing Director
Dave started Apex back in 1997 after returning from 5 years in various IT roles in the UK.
David's current role is running the day to day business of Apex Internet, harrassing staff, and business development. He also puts out the rubbish and waters the pot plants. He has a Bachelors degree from Auckland University and a post Graduate Diploma in Operations Management.
Outside of Apex David loves spending time working on his lifestyle block whenever his wife and two young children will let him.
Karyn Ogier, Operations Director
Karyn as co-founder is the other rostered plant waterer and rubbish taker outer. Karyn is responsible for the general management of all client campaigns and is the Search Engine Marketing educator of all of the Resellers in our network. As the first specialist in New Zealand to achieve Google Adwords 'Professional' status, Karyn is a true search engine expert. With close to ten year's experience in optimising and promoting Websites Karyn has a wealth of knowledge in the industry. She is a member of many global Search Engine forums and ensures that all our clients are up with the latest rule and algorithm changes when the Search Engines make them.
Karyn has qualifications in Business Management from the New Zealand Institute of Management (NZIM).
Karyn's free time is spent with her husband and two lovely daughters enjoying New Zealand's wonderful outdoors.
Roy Bowers, Client Relationships Manager
Roy is responsible for managing relationships with all direct clients and new resellers, and ensuring they receive the straight-forward and friendly service that Apex is famous for. In previous corporate roles Roy has had to select and work with web and IT providers so he knows what it is like from a client's perspective.
Roy has a first class honours degree in Marketing and International Management, and has worked in the UK, USA and Spain.
When not working Roy will use any excuse whatsoever to get out of the house and go fishing.
Suzanne Carter, Business Development
Suzanne was a client of ours for 4 years and enjoyed working with us so much that she thought it best to come and join the team. Suzanne has a lot of experience working with websites from the design through to programming and optimisation so she understands perfectly what clients are looking for. After all, she was one!
Suzanne is passionate about working with clients to help them get the best out of their websites and always provides a very friendly and efficient service.
Suzanne is from Gloucestershire in the UK and along with her other half, Mark, has made New Zealand her home for the last six years. She has a degree in Psychology and qualifications in Personnel Management and Marketing.
At the weekends, if you don’t find her with her nose in a book somewhere she will be in Kaikoura acting as a photographer’s (Mark) assistant.
Jessica Murray, Account Manager
Jess is responsible for the key components of our client’s Search Engine Marketing campaigns from keyword analysis through to establishing reciprocal links. Her attention to detail and enthusiasm are appreciated by all her clients.
Jess has a Bachelor of Business Studies majoring in Marketing. Jess is revered in the office for her exceptional cups of coffee, no one ever says no when it’s Jess’ turn.
Away from work Jess can be found in the shops or relaxing at a local cafe.
Lizette Smith, Account Manager
Lizette is learning to adapt to the Taranaki way of living, having recently moved up from Christchurch with her "naki" partner.
Lizette comes from a banking background, but decided it was time for a change of industry and that an Internet related role would be a challenging move.
Having just purchased her first home, you will generally find her doing housework, gardening & such like (until the novelty wears off). Otherwise she can be found on the back of the motorbike on a daytrip or longer.
Sonya Cole, Web Marketer
Sonya brings a strong business administration background to her web marketing role. Her top notch organisational skills assist in ensuring that our database is kept current as the first step to ensuring that we are offering a robust and quality service to our clients.
As the wearer of many hats, Sonya balances her time between working at Apex, a busy toddler and house renovations!
Nigel Wells, ITC Manager
Nigel is Apex’s IT guru (geek?) with skills in most programming languages. Nigel completed his Bachelor of Applied Information Systems in 2004, and has dedicated his life to making life easier for the crew and clients of Apex Internet.
Nigel specialises in online database development, VB applications, and dynamic content management systems. The policy he brings to each project is, “If you need it, I’ll find a way to do it.” This policy has lead to an ever growing paper mountain where his desk used to be. David no longer asks Nigel ‘If’ something can be done, now he just says, “Sure, Nigel can do it.”
In his spare time Nigel can be found helping out at the local youth group, or taking Ceroc dance lessons.
Peter Chapman, Web Developer
Peter joined Apex after completing his Bachelor of Information Sciences at Massey in 2006.
Peter's role is supporting Nigel in developing solutions for our clients using predominantly PHP/MySQL, but also VB applications, and the .Net framework.
In his spare time Peter can be found playing Civilization or jamming on his strat.
Shay Porteous, Web Developer
Shay joined Apex after completing her studies in Web Development at Natcoll in Wellington. The newest member of the Apex team, Shay assists Nigel with developing and updating client websites.
When she is not at work she can be found playing Netball, watching Outrageous Fortune or visiting 'the olds' for a decent home cooked meal.
Keri Law – Accounts
Keri is David’s wife and comes in for a few hours a week to hunt down those clients that dare to go past the 20th of the month on their accounts. Keri also does payroll and pays all the bills, so she’s the one everyone seems to be really nice to..?!!
